A Word of Thanks
Howling Hill Farm began its official sunset in the summer of 2021, with the sale of my remaining alpaca herd to Annie Hunt of Willow Wind Farm in Colorado. In truth, the sunset began years before that, and has lingered on beyond the summer 2021 date as I have struggled with the concept of renaming the farm and all of my associated ventures entirely. This, however, marks the turning point after which I was no longer involved in the alpaca industry even remotely.
This website will remain up indefinitely, if only to redirect to my other site(s) in the future. For the moment, it remains here as a simple explanation, and for me to offer my most sincere thanks to those who followed me, and began to believe in my vision, over the past few years. I do still believe in the value of the uniquely-patterned Huacaya alpaca; however, working with them directly is no longer to be a part of my adventure through this lifetime, at least not as far as I can see from my current vantage point. I will retain two pet males (who doesn't?) but I will not be breeding.
I regret to inform interested parties that I will no longer be answering any direct questions regarding the genetics of the Huacaya alpaca. For one thing, I am very well out of the loop now, and no longer feel that I can speak with any authority on these matters as overall understanding has likely advanced since my time as a breeder. In addition, I simply do not have the time to do this on an individual basis and be fair and kind to myself. I will be putting up an informational site (probably an offshoot of this one; possibly not, depending on the proclivities of websites) to keep my previous writings and thoughts active for those who are curious. Beyond this, I am sorry to say that I may no longer be reached for advice with these matters.
Again, I offer my sincerest thanks to those who have followed me throughout the years, and have trusted me for said advice -- your support did not go unnoticed, despite the path that my life has taken, so again -- Thank You.
